29 AugDay 10 rehearsal Rainbow #kissbythebook
28 AugAfter getting through the entire play we came out to this amazing rainbow.Over two important places. One is the entrance to the rehearsal and costume hire store, and the other in the picture is ‘Il Paradiso del Cibo’ known locally as ‘Paulo’s’ the best Sardinian restaurant this side of Sardinia. Right next door to where we work it becomes a place to eat, meet and get great coffee…
So we are now fully through the text and have solved issues with how to play the whole Friar John section without having to have anyone else on stage…great work from the team yesterday We are heading to do a complete stagger through the play today (Saturday) and meetings with Richard Howell the lighting (lx) designer so he can see the run and we can discuss the lx plan I have asked for a rainbow…. Day 9 rehearsal R&J #kissbythebook
26 AugAlways make curries the night before
That way there will be less to do when 18 people come for tea A good day- we are on page 56 and only 8 more pages to go Here the nurse – Louisa Eyo and Juliet – Rachel Spicer work through the text in act 2 Also good that we had a direct through line on skype to Sandy Nuttgens Studio where he was able to send us tracks mid way through the day to work with – great stuff Bed now. Tired. Long day and washing up still to be done MxCurries being cooked for the R&J Company #kissbythebook
25 AugAs tradition has it, the company will be coming round to our house for curries – so a large pot of Tarka Dhall and a lamb Rogan Josh are on the menu
After a hard day at work there is nothing better than coming home and knocking some chapati flour into shape. Christy has been photographing the process to put on his recipe blog for uni, which he starts next month. So quite possibly our company meal recipe may be seen again at Bankside House in London for other LSE students at some later date! Good fight call today, but as previously mentioned the first rule of fight call is not to talk about it… So we are on page 42 of our script – only 22 to go and we are aiming to get those under our belt, at least as broad outlines for the stagger through for the tech team on Saturday. So work to be done, not least keeping an eye on my lentils! MxSkype Production meeting for R&J #kissbythebook
24 AugChloe Lamford and Richard Howell live on skype for our production meeting today – saving travelling up from London
#greenmeetings are us!Day 6 of R&J rehearsal #kissbythebook
24 AugWe have moved back to the Walmgate rehearsal rooms now where the York Theatre Royal costume and prop store is.
We had a later call to allow the set to be re-fitted up again. It always takes a bit to get going on the second week. We had second costume fittings and Chloe was going through the new costumes with all the cast. This meant we were a little slow to get going on Monday, but having said that we did manage to get up to page 26. We are going to try and get to the end of Act one today – page 37 plus we have a scheduled production meeting at 1pm and both Richard Howell (LX designer) and Chloe Lamford (Set and Costumes) will be joining us via skype for that. I also have a skype meeting with composet Sandy Nuttgens about the soundtrack at 9.30 so I better get a move on as there is a lot to get through today. So Katie and I will be working pretty smartly today… Go go gadget legs! Til laterYouTube intro of the cast and design for @pilot_theatre ‘s – R&J #kissbythebook

What an amazing space, with extraordinary facilities. We are moving back to our usual rehearsal space I’m Walmgate, York next week as they are now free. But as a kick off to the project this has been a fab space to work We will be back…
