New writing for @pilot_theatre as part of our #platform11 project – #Generationzed

25 Sep

Gz

As part of Pilot Theatre’s ongoing involvement in the Platform 11+ project, supported by the European Union, we are delighted to announce Pilot Theatre’s first playwriting competition, Generation Zed

Generation Zed is looking to find new texts that explore teenagers relationship with our changing society and their stake within this.  We are looking for ideas to excite, challenge and inspire audiences between the ages of 11 – 15.

As well as looking for exceptional storytelling aimed at a teenage audience we are also interested in how these stories are told. The idea could be a traditional play but it could also be a piece that explores the relationship between performer and audience or a piece told across multiple platforms, whatever is the best way to actively engage the audience with the story.

Prize
The winning idea will receive a £1000 prize and a research and development week at Pilot Theatre, working with professional performers and our creative team.

We will also be awarding “Highly Commended” awards to ideas that we deem excellent.

To Enter
To enter Generation Zed please send us a synopsis of your idea (no more than one side of A4) as well as no more than five pages of a script to generationzed@pilot-theatre.com, but first check that your text meets the following criteria:-

The text must be designed to be performed by professional actors.

The text must be for an audience between 11 – 15

The idea must never before have been performed unless in scratch or rehearsed reading format.

Please submit your entries by November 19th 2011

For more information or enquiries about the project please contact our Associate Director, Tom Bellerby tom@pilot-theatre.com

Even the dog is waiting for our Italian Dinner…

11 Sep

P332

With all the family travelling back from Cambridge, London and North Yorkshire – the table is set and even the dog awaits…

Home made pesto, pasta and bread with full Italian deli board to start.

This also meant that Tiramisu and espresso were on the breakfast in bed menu.

Weekends take on different meanings these days and are way more fun!

A working kitchen…

P297

Last night in our kitchen made me realise how differently we use spaces these days.

Susie and Christy at work planning details of their imminent moves into new flats.

For Susie, a new job in Cambridge starts on Monday, so last minute packing and preparation for her move down.

For Christy a new term at LSE and a new flat in Bethnal Green, so last minute calls to broadband providers to try and get connected.

School starts tomorrow, and the definite feel of a new term is in the air.

Mills and I are up here still, only it is us who are sitting at the kitchen table with our laptops today.
